Gum Treatment

What is it?

When plaque and tartar stay on your teeth for a period of time, the bacteria found within these deposits can not only attack your teeth but also affect your gums. When your gums are in constant contact with bacteria, signs of gingivitis will appear in the form of:

-Redness

-Gingival Inflammation

-Bleeding Gums when Brushing or Flossing

Luckily, gingivitis is reversible with regular dental cleanings and proper home care. However if the plaque and tartar responsible for the gingivitis aren’t removed on a regular basis, the bacteria affecting your teeth and gums can then infiltrate itself into your teeth’s bone support. Once this happens, the bacteria will gradually eat away at the bone and inevitably lead to tooth mobility or loss. Unfortunately, the damage caused to your bone support is irreversible which is why it’s so important to practice adequate oral hygiene.

There are various treatment options available. After conducting an assessment of your gums and bone support, we can create a treatment plan customized to your individual dental needs.
